It is a non-ozone-depleting long-term alternative to R502 that is well suited for low and medium temperature refrigeration applications. In commercial refrigeration, R-404A serves a wide range of applications including supermarket freezer cases, reach-in coolers, display cases, transport refrigeration and ice machines.
